Infant Development, Play & Movement 0–1Y Aim: To support parents and caregivers in understanding infant development during the first year of life through play, attachment, communication and movement-based activities that promote healthy emotional, social, cognitive and physical activity for both parent and baby. *Workshop sessions are delivered free of charge and are subject to funding availability and community need. BHC is currently awaiting the outcome of funding applications.* A free virtual workshop designed to support parents and caregivers in understanding infant development during the first year of life. Delivered in line with NHS and NICE guidance, the session explores early attachment, bonding, responsive parenting, communication, sensory development and the importance of play in supporting healthy emotional, social and cognitive development. The workshop also covers age-appropriate play activities, tummy time, movement-based learning and simple ways to encourage active daily routines and “keep moving” activities for both parent and baby to support healthy development, wellbeing and active family lifestyles from birth to one year. BHC provides free virtual workshops for parents and families across the UK, supporting the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) between the 6–8 week Health Visitor review and the 1-year developmental review. The project promotes healthy infant nutrition, postnatal wellbeing, infant development, physical activity, family budgeting and positive daily routines through accessible, evidence-based early years education delivered in line with NHS and NICE guidelines. BHC hopes parents, caregivers and professionals find the BHC platform helpful and supportive. Platform information and guidance are reviewed monthly by an NMC-registered professional to help ensure content remains safe, evidence-based and systematically up to date.
