BHC aims to support the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) by providing accessible virtual workshops for parents and families across the UK. BHC workshops help bridge the gap between the Health Visitor review at 6–8 weeks and the 1-year developmental review, offering continued guidance, reassurance, and early years information throughout the first year of infant and child development.

The project aims to improve outcomes for families through early intervention, practical education and community-based guidance. BHC promotes healthy infant nutrition to help reduce long-term childhood obesity, supports postnatal recovery and maternal wellbeing, encourages positive infant brain development through play and attachment, and helps families build confidence in budgeting, accessing services and maintaining healthy daily routines.

All workshops are delivered virtually and free of charge for parents, caregivers and families during early parenthood and infancy. Workshop content is delivered in line with relevant NHS and NICE guidelines to provide safe, evidence-based early years information and support.

Workshop sessions are delivered free of charge and are subject to funding availability and community need.
