Postnatal Wellbeing: Three Months On Have you been so busy caring for your baby and adjusting to life as a parent that you have had little time to self check in about your own wellbeing and recovery? The first few months after birth can bring many physical, emotional and lifestyle changes. This free virtual public health education workshop offers an opportunity to learn more about postnatal recovery, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle habits during early parenthood. Aim: To provide accessible public health education for Parents and caregivers during the postnatal period, promoting knowledge, confidence and awareness of factors that contribute to physical health, emotional wellbeing and positive family lifestyles. This free virtual workshop is designed for mothers and caregivers from approximately three months postpartum onwards. Delivered in line with NHS and NICE guidance, the session explores key topics relating to postnatal wellbeing, including: • Physical recovery following pregnancy and birth • Pelvic health and abdominal recovery • Returning to physical activity and gentle movement • Nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits • Awareness of iron deficiency and its potential impact on wellbeing • Sleep and fatigue during the postnatal period • Emotional wellbeing and adjustment to parenthood • Building healthy family routines • Awareness of local and national services available to families The workshop promotes informed decision-making, healthy lifestyle behaviours and active wellbeing to support maternal health, infant wellbeing and positive family outcomes during the first year after birth. BHC provides free virtual public health education workshops for parents and families across the UK, supporting the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) between the 6–8 week Health Visitor review and the 1-year developmental review. The project promotes healthy infant nutrition, postnatal wellbeing, infant development, physical activity, family budgeting and positive daily routines through accessible, evidence-based education. *Workshop sessions are delivered free of charge and are subject to funding availability and community need.
